5 top fish keeping myths

Although fish keeping, in modern area has got a lot of popularity still few people have the myths and even few cases the owners also have the same things in their mind.  So, here I am sharing with you few myths what generally people have:

1. Gold fish can only be kept in bowl:
There is a myth that gold fish can only be kept in bowl. Believe me, most of the cases if more than one adult gold fish is kept in a 2 liter bowl, they may die after few days even if you provide sufficient oxygen or food. Most of the cases, it has been observed that if you keep one gold fish alone or multiple gold fish in a bowl altogether, it create stress among them. So, keep them in aquarium and provide them enough place to swim.

2. Betta Fish only be kept in bowl:
Betta fishes are such a kind of fish species that don’t like to stay altogether. If two male betta fishes are kept together they start to fight. That’s why they are called fighter fish also. If you want to keep it in aquarium, you may keep but try to not keep other fishes there.

3. Cichlids and non cichlids fishes can’t be kept in altogether:
It’s true that cichlids and non cichlids fishes can’t be kept altogether. If they are kept, the cichlids may harm the non cichlids for sure. But this doesn’t happen for all of the time. If you keep the baby fishes (cichlids and non cichlids) altogether, they may become friends and in adult stage cichlids will not harm to non cichlids.

4. Aquarium filters to be replaced with new one frequently:
Don’t ever do that if your old filters work properly. It is because some time there in the old filter, few bacteria grow which decompose the dirt , fish poops or any biological waste. Apart from that, changing filter on a frequent basis will cost much more with no meaning. So, don’t do that.

5. Fish keeping is expensive and it needs plenty time:

Fish keeping is not expensive until you are keeping imported fishes in your tank. And it needs 30-40 mins time per week to change the water or clean the tank and 2-3 mins per day for feeding the buddies.
